Is laser surgery painful?
During the operation you may feel touch or pressure, but not pain. Immediately after the operation, for the first few hours, you may experience a scratchy feeling, stinging, watering or photophobia, but you shouldn't have any discomfort after the first 24 hours.
Are both eyes operated on at the same time?
It depends on the procedure being performed, but it is common to operate on both eyes in the same session.
How long does the laser procedure take?
It only takes a few minutes. It is a very quick procedure that varies according to the dioptres that need to be corrected, but in no case will it take more than 30 minutes. After this you are free to leave the clinic on your own
How old do I have to be to have surgery?
Eighteen or over, provided that your prescription has stabilised.

Do I need to be accompanied?

What does cataract surgery involve?
It is a matter of replacing the crystalline lens, which is the natural lens through which the eye focuses rays of light onto the retina, with an artificial lens that performs the same function and lasts for the rest of your life.

No. We do not normally operate on both eyes at the same time. We usually leave about one week between operating on one eye and the other.

What should I expect at my initial visit?
At your first visit all the necessary tests will be performed to obtain a personalised diagnosis that will enable us to inform you about the most suitable technique to solve your myopia, hyperopia and/or astigmatism problems.

Can I wear contact lenses?
No. If you wear contact lenses, you should stop using them for 7 days before having the tests.

What can I expect after the operation?
After the operation you will be prescribed eye drops and artificial tears that must be used for a short period of time.

You will have four check-ups before you are discharged:
